June 2009 at Wine Lake Camp
Six Hoosiers went in to Wine Lake Camp the first week in June.As usual, the fishing was phenomenal. The water temp was low so the trout were in the shallows. Between us, we caught a couple dozen of them, two at 30 1/2" and most 25-27". Caught many walleye so had fish every night. The largest walleye was 24 1/4". Smallies are now established in the system and wecaught 8 of them, the largest at 15 3/4". For the first time ever, the trophy pike action was slow, one at 40" and one at 36". All the rest were the size that are a pain in the butt. One member of the group even caught a white fish. Herb and Ann were great as usual. It's hard not to love them and their great Wine Lake Camp. One word of advice, make sure your watch is working well on fish contest day.
